Congress has voted for construction of 700 miles of fence along the U.S.-Mexican border in a move Mexico says will hurt relations between the two countries. The Senate voted 80-19, with 26 Democrats joining 54 Republicans in support, Friday night before recessing for the fall political campaigns.

Yipee! Only 2000+ miles more to go!

Of course Critics claim the $1.2 billion fence would do little to address the underlying economic, social and law enforcement problems, or to prevent others from slipping across the border, The Washington Post reported. Bla Bla Bla! Screw the critics!

Mexican President Vicente Fox called it “shameful” and compared it to the Berlin Wall, which divided Germany.

An Australian kangaroo receives a fierce blow to the head by a man dressed in a clown suit

In the fight, the Australian kangaroo appears to reel backwards after receiving a right hook from its garishly attired opponent.

But the ‘roo, which was wearing boxing gloves on its front paws, fought back, grappling with the clown who was forced back towards the ropes by its onslaught.

The kangaroo is just one of 300 ‘athletes’ taking part in the annual event, now in its fourth year, at the Shanghai Wild Animal Park.

Squirrels Go On Attack

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — An aggressive squirrel pounced on a 4-year-old boy in an attack last week in Cuesta Park in Mountain View, Calif.

The attack happened as the boy’s mother unwrapped a muffin during a picnic. The boy had to get rabies shot after the attack. He is still getting the shots.

The attack is not the first one reported at the park.

Mountain View Community Services Director David Muela said that as many as six people have been bitten or scratched by squirrels since May, and that the attacks have become more ferocious in the last month
Even though a poll on wether to trap and kill the aggresive squirrels is leading 70-30% I’m sure there will be some animal-rights nutballs out there to protest. Vote yourself and see if we can raise the percentage.

(ABC News) Juan Leonardo Quintero, an illegal immigrant (ILLEGAL ALIEN), has been charged with killing a Houston police officer last week after a routine traffic stop. Quintero allegedly shot Officer Rodney Johnson four times in the head while in handcuffs in the back seat of his patrol car. Apparently the officer missed finding the gun after patting down the ILLEGAL ALIEN.

The suspect (read - ILLEGAL ALIEN) should not have been in the United States. Quintero was deported in 2004 after a conviction for indecency with a child.

Police Chief Harold Hurtt blames the federal government for not securing U.S. borders. “The subject was deported, and yet he came back, so if the government fulfilled their responsibility of protecting the border we would probably not be standing here today,” Hurtt said.

Here’s the kicker; after the shooting there was video taken of Houston police officers opening the back doors of the dead officer’s car anf pulling the suspect out. Why they didn’t just walk up and blast this ILLEGAL ALIEN when he was apparently armed and had just killed a police officer is a mystery to me.

Jericho - To begin airing on Wed. (9-20) looks really interesting. Not since “Amerika” in the 70’s has a miniseries looked able to wake up Americans to the fact that we are vulnerable to having our way of life changed dramatically, almost literally overnight.

From what I gathered from the preview ( available here ) there is a town called Jericho, Kansas. After a nuclear detonation in Denver it is cutoff communications wise from the rest of the country. As the story unfolds it becomes apparent that there have been other nuclear explosions in other U.S. cities and the series starts from there.

I don’t know how the explosions originated, either from smuggled nuclear devices or from missles but hopefully the series will focus on the Islamic possibility.

Hopefully this won’t turn into a blame America PC expedition. We’ll see.

(AFP) A hospital in northwest England has introduced a new surgical gown modelled on the burka, allowing female Muslim patients to cover themselves completely in line with their religious beliefs.

The blue “Inter-Faith Gown” is the first of its type in Britain and has been trialled at the Royal Preston Hospital. It will be available to those who want it from November 1.

Hospital bosses said the gown — which covers the entire body from head to toe — provides extra comfort and cover for patients undergoing medical procedures and whose culture or religion requires more modest attire.

Now who’d that be referring to? Any other religions out there YOU know of that this would apply to?

There is a simple way to solve this and it could probably be done in a few days. Start taking pictures and video and post it on a website, then charge a fee for viewing. These people are in it for the shock value but when they realize that someone is making money off of it they of course will proclaim how shocked they are that someone could “exploit” them in this way, and perhaps cover up.
