Coin shortage could turn pennies to nickels
“Find a penny, pick it up and all day long you’ll have a nickel”?
NEW YORK (Reuters) - A potential shortage of coins in the United States could mean all those pennies in your piggy bank could be worth five times their current value soon, says an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
Sharply rising prices of metals such as copper and nickel have meant the face value of pennies and nickels are worth less than the material that they are made of, increasing the risk that speculators could melt the coins and sell them for a profit.

Watch subject. Bush goes ballistic about other countries being evil and dangerous, because they have weapons of mass destruction. But, he insists on building up even a more deadly supply of nuclear arms right here in the US. What do you think? Is killing thousands of innocent civilians okay when you are doing a little government makeover?
Our country is in debt until forever, we don’t have jobs, and we live in fear. We have invaded a country and been responsible for thousands of deaths.
We have lost friends and influenced no one. No wonder most of the world thinks we suck. Thanks to what george bush has done to our country during the past three years, we do!
RWC - What hell are you talking about? Maybe YOU live in fear but there hasn’t been a terror attack since 9/11 so GWB must be doing something right. “We don’t have jobs”? Talking out your ass again here too, I won’t try to confuse your statements with facts. You go check it out. Civilians are dying from other Muslims but you will also ignore this, you’re a proagandist fool. I don’t really give a shit if other countries like us. Doing the right thing means doing what is also unpopular at times. Why would all of those so-called “friends” you speak of vote for all these worthless U.N. resolutions if there wasn’t going to be any consequences? Nope, the way I see it the U.S. is right and these other fair-weather friends are wrong. It seems that Great Britain, Australia, Italy, Poland, Japan, and a few others still like us as they sent troops to Iraq. Sorry, I wasn’t going to confuse you with the facts.
Hope no one lights a bomb in the contries you think don’t like us ’cause maybe we’ll think twice about helping out…
