Airlines say ‘NO’ to horsemeat
Or rather, “Non”, as in France will be bummed about this…
A federal court decision that upheld a Texas ban on horsemeat for human dining has thrown the horse-slaughter industry into flux this week, with two airlines saying they won’t transport the meat even as the state’s two slaughter plants say operations are “business as usual.”
American Airlines and Delta Air Lines said today that Thursday, jan. 25 they have suspended transport of horsemeat from Texas airports to the overseas markets — mainly France, Belgium and Japan — where it is consumed.
In other news, the town of Calaveras, California announced it will halt shipping of it’s prized frogs to France.

And this is wonderful news! Americans do not want horses slaughtered. They are our companion animals, not part of the food chain in the United States.
Thank you to the Texas judges that upheld a law in place, since 1949!

BRAVO AMERICAN AND DELTA AIRLINES!
THE VAST MAJORITY OF AMERICANS ARE ADAMANTLY OPPOSED TO HORSE SLAUGHTER. WE HAVE NO WISH TO FEED AMERICAN HORSES TO EUROPEANS AND ASIANS. THAT TWO OF OUR AIRLINES HAVE SAID NO TO THE TRANSPORT OF HORSE FLESH TO FORIEGN COUNTRIES IS A HUGE VICTORY FOR HORSES AND FOR THOSE WHO LOVE AND ADMIRE THEM.

Kaufman Texas has suffered long enough over this dirty business. Great news for horse owners as well - horse theft in California dropped over 30% since banning horse slaughter in 1998.And, there were no reported increases in abuse and neglect.
Let’s also work to prevent them moving elsewhere where they will pay little to no taxes and pollute the area.
support The American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act! HR503 / S311
