February 26th, 2007

AL GORE.

But he does so much goooooooood…

Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

It’s not what Liberals do - it’s what they want YOU to do. You dummy.

Indian Chief Killed By Political Correctness

February 23rd, 2007

The bastards didn’t even have the cajones to let the guy know personally…

“No one has contacted me and said, ‘This is your last performance,’ ” he said.

Dan Maloney as Chief Illiniwek

No one told him he’ll have to give up the regalia — the Indian headdress, the buckskins, or anything else. So he had hoped to be able to dance again next year.

‘It’s a beautiful thing’

The dance was witnessed by 17,000 fans, dozens of state lawmakers and 150 journalists, twice the normal amount. It began with a video showing Chief performances over the years and included a listing of every student who ever portrayed the Chief, many of whom stood courtside.

Luckily he was unarmed, looking a little peeved.

If the Indian is so controversial then why did they do such an offensive thing as reviewing all of the past performances? The pain endured must have pushed some over the edge. I’m sure they must have had grief counselors available for those who wished for them.

How many other former mascots have been stiffed by the politically correct Universities around the country in the last ten years? Go ahead, keep banning Indian mascots and eventually no one will remember the Indi…oops, “Native Americans” with which we share our national heritage.

Global warming concerns are keeping children awake at night

February 23rd, 2007

Chalk another one up to the Global Whining bullshit artists…those who control the children control the future.

“Half of young children are anxious about the effects of global warming, often losing sleep because of their concern, according to a new report today.

Ever get the feeling you’re living in Soviet Russia of the 50’s?

“While many adults may look the other way, this study should show that global warming is not only hurting the children of the future, it’s affecting the welfare of kids now.”

Sick, sick, sick…

If you’ve been sucked in to the Global Whining B. S. then you probably don’t need to click here. It’s just another scientist that disputes the theory that any hurricane season is a product of GW (as Al Gore says) and you won’t believe him anyway.

Race-baiter Jackson lays guilt trip on Hollyweird

February 22nd, 2007

But, these are the people that wet their pants for a good guilt trip, ie. Global Warming and the Church of Gaia. So maybe it’ll work. Jesse doesn’t have much influence anymore and he’s just kinda drifting slowly away…

Race-baiter

Civil rights leader wants more minorities in showbiz (Read the article carefully as it leaks out he’s really only speaking about one minority in particular)

“No date’s been set yet but the confab would be designed to bring together top execs and experts to seek solutions in several areas of concern”:

  • Hosts on many cable networks are nearly all Caucasian, or as Jackson puts it “All day, all night, all white.” (Gee, let a white man say something similar and he’d jump his sh*t, wouldn’t he?)
  • Minorities have limited access to jobs at major talent agencies. (Proof?)
  • Casting of minority actors remains a problem. Jackson noted, pointing to a UCLA study by Russell Robinson, released in December and showing that found 69 percent of Hollywood roles were reserved for white actors. (Whoa, let’s see now, black Americans make up 19-20% of the population so my math comes up with 31% of the roles are reserved for black actors & actresses. That means there is an OVER-EMPLOYMENT of 11% in these roles, not an under-employment.)

“It’s really an issue of infrastructure,” Jackson added. “The voting doesn’t at all reflect the current reality of the population.”

So applying Jackson’s logic let’s make sure that the NBA and NFL as well as a couple of other sports positions are only 20% black. Hmmm, what about the Asians? This of course would not make for the most exciting games now would it?

Bottom line: You need the best in the particular field whether it’s sports, film, or whatever to get the job done. Doesn’t make a damned bit of difference what flavor you are. Don’t let Racists (and that’s what they are) dictate and pressure anyone in any way to accept anything less!

Sidenote: Anyone ever ask Jesse how many non-black people are employed by his Rainbow/Push pressure group?

Find the Illegal Immigrant

February 22nd, 2007

A contest called “Find the Illegal Immigrant” - a mock hunt for a student posing as just that - is being met with widespread protest on campus and receiving local and national media coverage.

“The event will open up both vocally and physically the issue of illegal immigration,” she said. “That it’s not right to come here illegally while others are waiting to come here legally and receive free health care and jobs that undercut wages of American workers and people that are living here legally.”

Of course the Libs take this view…

Protesters from the various other groups will be carrying signs and handing out pamphlets stating “No one is illegal” and calling the event “completely unacceptable.”

Call me whatever you like. This is funny.

(Yawn) Iranian students torch flags

February 22nd, 2007

Uh huh,

Iranian students torched British, American and Israeli flags at a rally in Tehran on Thursday in a show of support for the country’s nuclear programme and a protest against the United States and Israel.

“The Iranian nation will not back down on its nuclear rights,” “Death to America,” “Death to Israel,” the group of about 100 Islamist students chanted, an AFP photographer at the scene reported.

How about a little “Death from Above” for our little friends…

Global Warming to Raise Children’s Temperatures

February 22nd, 2007

HA!

They’re really pulling out all the stops aren’t they?

“It really demonstrates the urgent need for a more thorough investigation into how exactly climate change will affect health in childhood.”

Dr Lam said the results, collated from The Children’s Hospital at Westmead admissions, back up beliefs that children are less able to regulate their bodies against climate change than adults.

Whata Buncha Horse Sh*t…

US deficit is shrinking, for now

February 21st, 2007

And John Edwards thinks we should raise taxes…

“Tax revenues are rising much faster than spending, according to Treasury Department numbers released last week. The recent trend is strong enough that, were it to continue, the budget could move into surplus in barely a year, one economist calculates”.

“Already, the federal deficit is shrinking toward about half the size that it has averaged since 1970, when analyzed as a percentage of gross domestic product”.

Hmmm, how can this be? DemoRats said that tax cuts don’t work.

Organic is not as green as Liberals say

February 21st, 2007

Yeah, you knew it. You felt it in your bones, didn’tcha?

The energy needed to grow organic tomatoes is 1.9 times that of conventional methods, the study found. Organic milk requires 80 per cent more land to produce than conventional milk and creates 20 per cent more carbon dioxide, it says. The use of manure to fertilize land can lead to acidification of soil and the pollution of water courses.

What’s more…

Organic chickens require 25 per cent more energy to rear and produce more carbon dioxide than conventional battery or barn hens, according to the report.

So the friggin’ hypocrite Global Warming crowd can sit there sippin’ their free trade coffee and muching their organic chicken on organic rye, organic tomato, organic lettuce with soy mayo and bean sprout sandwiches feeling all good about themselves and contributing more to the Earth’s demise than Joe Sixpack with his ham and cheese. But isn’t that what they’re all about, guilt? They set the social agenda and try to make others feel guilty and inferior? Doesn’t make a difference if all this unproven lifestyle changes work or not. It’s GOTTA be better.

This is Gay.

Swarms of Hornets hit France - Chivac Promptly Surrenders

February 21st, 2007

Swarms of giant hornets renowned for their vicious stings and skill at massacring honeybees have settled in France. “Their spread across French territory has been like lightning,” said Jean Haxaire, the entomologist who originally identified the new arrival.

In fact it’s been a little like a “blitzkrieg”, similar to many attacks by enemies of France and of course it’s all because of Global Warming!

Idiots…

Live Earth Concerts Lined Up By Gore

February 15th, 2007

Go ahead suckers, save the Earth…

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Al Gore announced on Thursday a series of worldwide concerts to focus on the threat of climate change, with a powerhouse lineup from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Snoop Dogg to Bon Jovi.

The 24-hour event on July 7 is part of a campaign, Save Our Selves _ The Campaign for a Climate in Crisis, that promoters hope will trigger a broad movement to address what the former vice president calls a global climate crisis.

What no Green Day?! Don’t suppose these performers are going to walk to each concert are they? Each plane trip they make spews more pollution than a Hummer would for a year. Oh, everyone will be feeling like they’re making a difference now won’t they?

The concerts on seven continents will bring newfound publicity to Gore, who already is enjoying celebrity status with his Oscar- nominated documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth.” Gore said he was thrilled that the film, on the perils of global warming, was nominated for best documentary and for best song, the latter nod coming for Melissa Etheridge’s “I Need to Wake Up.”

More than 100 performers are scheduled to appear at the July concerts, including Etheridge, the Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Duran Duran, Korn, Pharrell, the Black Eyed Peas, Akon, Enrique Iglesias, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.

Well, that makes it much easier to boycott these celebs now doesn’t it?

Swim center bars two-year-old girl because she isn’t Muslim

February 13th, 2007

Yep, Brits bending over for Muslim special rights in thier own country…

(thisislondon.co.uk) - Arriving at the leisure centre already in her swimming costume, two-year-old Darby was desperate to get into the water.

But she was left in tears when staff said they were not allowed in the pool because the session was for Muslim women and their children only. Non-Muslim members of Thornton Heath leisure centre were angry that they could not swim during the Muslim-only sessions on Saturdays and Sundays unless they obeyed the strict dress code.

Other city councils in Jolly Old have been doing similar bend over excercises, letting non-Muslims participate if they follow the dress code. (Notice after the click thru how militant the swim rules are, doesn’t seem like peace to me)

For men, this involved wearing shorts which kept the navel hidden and were extended below the knee, while women bathers had to wear a swimming costume which covered their body from the neck down to the ankle.

Similarly, Wolverhampton Council and South Lanarkshire local authority have also been criticised for operating women- only swimming for Muslims.

I give us about a year or two before we do the same

Experts question theory on global warming

February 13th, 2007

The gloss continues to come off of the Global Whining scare theory…

(Hindustan Times) - Some experts have questioned the alarmists theory on global warming leading to shrinkage of Himalayan glaciers. VK Raina, a leading glaciologist and former ADG of GSI is one among them.

He feels that the research on Indian glaciers is negligible. Nothing but the remote sensing data forms the basis of these alarmists observations and not on the spot research.

Raina told the Hindustan Times that out of 9,575 glaciers in India, till date, research has been conducted only on about 50. Nearly 200 years data has shown that nothing abnormal has occurred in any of these glaciers.

It is simple. The issue of glacial retreat is being sensationalised by a few individuals, the septuagenarian Raina claimed. Throwing a gauntlet to the alarmist, he said the issue should be debated threadbare before drawing a conclusion.

Well there I go again, throwing a monkey wrench into the spokes of the global whining push cart…and all at a low price!

Study: Glacier melting can be variable

(UPI) - BOULDER, Colo., Feb. 13 (UPI) — A U.S. study suggests two of Greenland’s largest glaciers are melting at variable rates and not at an increasing trend.

The study, led by Ian Howat, a researcher with the University of Colorado’s National Snow and Ice Data Center and the University of Washington’s Applied Physics Laboratory, shows the glaciers shrank dramatically and dumped twice as much ice into the sea during a period of less than a year between 2004 and 2005.

But then, fewer than two years later, they returned to near their previous rates of discharge.

Howat says such variability during such a short time underlines the problem in assuming glacial melting and sea level rise will necessarily occur at a steady upward trajectory.

“Our main point is that the behavior of these glaciers can change a lot from year to year, so we can assume to know the future behavior from short records of recent changes,” he said. “Future warming may lead to rapid pulses of retreat and increased discharge rather than a long, steady drawdown.”

The research is online in the journal Science Express.

Talking Urinal Cakes Offer Drinking And Driving Advice

February 13th, 2007

Yes, for those who see pink elephants while driving home after a night of drinking. Now you can wonder about that voice you heard at that last potty stop…

SANTA FE — New Mexico has taken its fight against drunken driving to men’s restrooms around the state.

The state has ordered 500 talking urinal cakes that will deliver a recorded anti-DWI message to bar and restaurant patrons who make one last pit stop before getting behind the wheel.

The top of the devices feature the state DWI slogan — “You drink, you drive, you lose.”

Some Albuquerque bars installed the devices this week.

And the state Transportation Department plans to distribute them to Santa Fe bars and restaurants as well as establishments in Farmington, Gallup and Las Cruces.

The state spent $21 for each talking urinal cake for the pilot program but will ask bars and restaurants to pay for future orders if the idea catches on.

The cakes have enough battery power to last about three months.

Hmmm, wonder who get’s the job of changing the batteries? Ya know, they should have these in spanish and a little button so you can choose which language. Better yet, why don’t they have english lessons so the illegals can learn a little of that since they aren’t learning it in the schools over here. Kind of a “learn as you go” program. I noticed that there wasn’t any of this for women.

Obama: Soldier’s Lives “Wasted”

February 13th, 2007

DURHAM, N.H. — In his first stumble, White House hopeful Barack Obama on Monday took back words from the day before, when he said the lives of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq were “wasted.”

Following his Springfield launch on Saturday, Obama wrapped up a three-day swing in the key primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire, ending at a University of New Hampshire rally where he assailed the “trivialization of politics” where “it is all about who makes a gaffe.”

More here

Really? A gaffe? It isn’t a “gaffe” when your real disdain comes shining through. Then you apologize when the “gaffe” picks up traction and you start getting heat for it.

Let’s hope her highness Hillary has as many stumbles as this dude. It’s not even going to be close, Obama isn’t even going to make it a race between Hillary and himself. DOES ANYONE REALLY THINK THAT DEMORATS CARE ABOUT AMERICA FIRST AND THEIR POLITICAL ASPIRATIONS AFTERWARDS?

Soviet monument to make way for Reagan statue?

February 13th, 2007

It seems the only people that get it are those who formerly lived under the socialist paradise that the DemoRats want to take us to…

(AFP) - Opponents of Poland’s former communist regime reportedly want to pay a posthumous homage to US President Ronald Reagan by erecting his statue in the place of a Soviet-era monument.

In an open letter to the mayor of the southwestern city of Katowice, the former anti-regime activists said that the staunchly anti-communist Reagan had been a “symbol of liberty,” the Polish news agency PAP reported.

As a result, they said, he deserved to become the centrepiece of the city’s Freedom Square, replacing a monument to the Soviet troops who drove out the occupying Nazis in 1945.

They also said that they wanted the site to be rebaptised “Ronald Reagan Freedom Square.”

City hall spokesman Waldemar Bojarun said that Katowice’s councillors would consider the issue.

Bojarun said that he had “enormous respect” for Reagan.

An experiment that hints lefties are wrong on climate change

February 12th, 2007

EXACTLY!

“Enthusiasm for the global-warming scare also ensures that heatwaves make headlines, while contrary symptoms, such as this winter’s billion-dollar loss of Californian crops to unusual frost, are relegated to the business pages”.

“Compilations of weather satellite data that cloudiness varies according to how many atomic particles are coming in from exploded stars. More cosmic rays, more clouds. The sun’s magnetic field bats away many of the cosmic rays, and its intensification during the 20th century meant fewer cosmic rays, fewer clouds, and a warmer world. On the other hand the Little Ice Age was chilly because the lazy sun let in more cosmic rays, leaving the world cloudier and gloomier”.

Former editor of the New Scientist points out what the real cause of global warming may be…

President of Czech Republic Calls Man-Made Global Warming a ‘Myth’ - Questions Gore’s Sanity

February 12th, 2007

Let’s see, lefties like to refer to Europe and hold it up as an example of enlightenment and how WE should be living; ie. driving cracker boxes, living in a one room flat on a quaint street above a bakery etc.. The romanticized vision of Europe. Well, I thought I’d try the same thing to make my point today…I love the answer to the last question!

Czech president Vaclav Klaus has criticized the UN panel on global warming, claiming that it was a political authority without any scientific basis. In an interview with “Hospodárské noviny”, a Czech economics daily, Klaus answered a few questions:

Q: IPCC has released its report and you say that the global warming is a false myth. How did you get this idea, Mr President?•

A: It’s not my idea. Global warming is a false myth and every serious person and scientist says so. It is not fair to refer to the U.N. panel. IPCC is not a scientific institution: it’s a political body, a sort of non-government organization of green flavor. It’s neither a forum of neutral scientists nor a balanced group of scientists. These people are politicized scientists who arrive there with a one-sided opinion and a one-sided assignment. Also, it’s an undignified slapstick that people don’t wait for the full report in May 2007 but instead respond, in such a serious way, to the summary for policymakers where all the “but’s” are scratched, removed, and replaced by oversimplified theses.• This is clearly such an incredible failure of so many people, from journalists to politicians. If the European Commission is instantly going to buy such a trick, we have another very good reason to think that the countries themselves, not the Commission, should be deciding about similar issues.•

Q: How do you explain that there is no other comparably senior statesman in Europe who would advocate this viewpoint? No one else has such strong opinions…•

A: My opinions about this issue simply are strong. Other top-level politicians do not express their global warming doubts because a whip of political correctness strangles their voice.

• Q: But you’re not a climate scientist. Do you have a sufficient knowledge and enough information?•

A: Environmentalism as a metaphysical ideology and as a worldview has absolutely nothing to do with natural sciences or with the climate. Sadly, it has nothing to do with social sciences either. Still, it is becoming fashionable and this fact scares me. The second part of the sentence should be: we also have lots of reports, studies, and books of climatologists whose conclusions are diametrally opposite.• Indeed, I never measure the thickness of ice in Antarctica. I really don’t know how to do it and don’t plan to learn it. However, as a scientifically oriented person, I know how to read science reports about these questions, for example about ice in Antarctica. I don’t have to be a climate scientist myself to read them. And inside the papers I have read, the conclusions we may see in the media simply don’t appear. But let me promise you something: this topic troubles me which is why I started to write an article about it last Christmas. The article expanded and became a book. In a couple of months, it will be published. One chapter out of seven will organize my opinions about the climate change.• Environmentalism and green ideology is something very different from climate science. Various findings and screams of scientists are abused by this ideology.•

Q: How do you explain that conservative media are skeptical while the left-wing media view the global warming as a done deal?•

A: It is not quite exactly divided to the left-wingers and right-wingers. Nevertheless it’s obvious that environmentalism is a new incarnation of modern leftism.•

Q: If you look at all these things, even if you were right …•

A: …I am right…•

Q: Isn’t there enough empirical evidence and facts we can see with our eyes that imply that Man is demolishing the planet and himself?•

A: It’s such a nonsense that I have probably not heard a bigger nonsense yet.•

Q: Don’t you believe that we’re ruining our planet?•

A: I will pretend that I haven’t heard you. Perhaps only Mr Al Gore may be saying something along these lines: a sane person can’t. I don’t see any ruining of the planet, I have never seen it, and I don’t think that a reasonable and serious person could say such a thing. Look: you represent the economic media so I expect a certain economical erudition from you. My book will answer these questions. For example, we know that there exists a huge correlation between the care we give to the environment on one side and the wealth and technological prowess on the other side. It’s clear that the poorer the society is, the more brutally it behaves with respect to Nature, and vice versa.• It’s also true that there exist social systems that are damaging Nature - by eliminating private ownership and similar things - much more than the freer societies. These tendencies become important in the long run. They unambiguously imply that today, on February 8th, 2007, Nature is protected uncomparably more than on February 8th ten years ago or fifty years ago or one hundred years ago.• That’s why I ask: how can you pronounce the sentence you said? Perhaps if you’re unconscious? Or did you mean it as a provocation only? And maybe I am just too naive and I allowed you to provoke me to give you all these answers, am I not? It is more likely that you actually believe what you say. Well, it makes a lot of sense, Prof Klaus. Other parts of the interview were dedicated to the Organization of European States (and Jo Leinen), the Czech civil cold war that has already ended, the radar for the U.S. missile defense, and his relations with the current Czech government. Show postings on this blog that contain the word Klaus.

Super Bowl Commercials

A little late but here are my votes for best and worst Super Bowl, er, sorry, Big Game commercials on Sunday.

First, the Worst. I had to spit out my tri-tip sandwich on this one:

Then come back for this one. So funnnnnnnny, and politically incorrect!

Porsche Rails at Emissions Caps

February 7th, 2007

Give ‘em Hell Wendelin?

Feb. 6 (Bloomberg) — Porsche AG is under threat from the drive to combat global warming, Chief Executive Officer Wendelin Wiedeking says.

Wiedeking has joined with other German luxury-car makers to protest a mandatory European Union cap on carbon-dioxide emissions that he says favors companies such as Renault SA and Fiat SpA that produce smaller vehicles.

“This is a business war in Europe,'’ Wiedeking, 54, told shareholders at Stuttgart’s Porsche Arena on Jan. 26. “It’s the French and Italians up against the Germans.'’

Paris-based Peugeot may say Feb. 7 that second-half net income fell 23 percent to 269 million euros as demand for its vehicles declined in Western Europe, according to the median estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News.

Save the planet in a Kangoo

Renault, which reports earnings on Feb. 8, will probably say profit dropped 13 percent to 1.04 billion euros, according to a survey of 10 analysts. Renault is also being hurt by shrinking earnings at Nissan Motor Co. Renault owns 44.3 percent of Japan’s third-biggest carmaker.

They were also both hurt by the fact that these Eco cars suck. I mean really, and on top of it they’re always ugly. Would you rather drive something called a “Panda” (try not to laugh), “Grande Punto:lol: , maybe a “107” or a “Kangoo” is more to your liking? Or, would you like a sensible person drive a Porshe Boxster and throw a few hundred more grams of CO2 a kilometer into the atmosphere instead?

My choice would be a new Dodge Challenger or maybe Shelby GT 500 Mustang. Screw Global Whining, give me some good ‘ol American Muscle!

Air America Fire Sale

February 7th, 2007

I……..LOVE………IT!

(Via Smoking Gun) - Bankrupt and about to lose Al Franken, its marquee star, Air America Radio is set to change hands for the bargain price of $4.25 million, according to new court documents. The sales figure was disclosed in a purchase agreement filed yesterday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York.

According to the agreement, the deal between Air America’s owner, Piquant LLC, and a firm controlled by Stephen L. Green, a New York realtor, calls for Green’s firm to repay up to $3.25 million in loans provided to Air America after the liberal radio network filed for Chapter 11 protection last October (the company listed debts of $20.2 million).

The lesson learned here is what?

I’ll tell ya, never loan a liberal money and liberal talk-radio will never work. Americans don’t like listening to Libs tear down the country. The only people who listen are people who checked out on working for a living (who don’t have money to buy what advertisers are sellin’) and Liberal elites.

France Tells U.S. to Sign Climate Pacts or Face Tax

February 4th, 2007

France threatens U.S.?

“A carbon tax is inevitable,” Mr. Chirac said. “If it is European, and I believe it will be European, then it will all the same have a certain influence because it means that all the countries that do not accept the minimum obligations will be obliged to pay.”

This little lefty thinks that France has a little loftier status than it really does…

He warned that if the United States did not sign the agreements, a carbon tax across Europe on imports from nations that have not signed the Kyoto treaty could be imposed to try to force compliance. The European Union is the largest export market for American goods.

What the article doesn’t point out is that Europe is almost as large a consumer of U.S. products and if the U.S. reciprocated this would help U.S. businesses as they would fill the gap. I think they need us more than we need them.

Oh, what would we do without European imports? This could mean:

NO French wines? Guess we’ll have to settle for California vinos.

NO French cheese? We still have Wisconsin and California fromage.

NO Vespas? Um, can you say Harley-Davidson?

NO BMW’s or Mercedes? We make ‘em here now so maybe parts would be an issue. This could help U.S. automakers or auto parts makers.

Feel free to comment and add to the list…

Many scientists deny global warming exists

February 4th, 2007

Well, just in case you’re all wrapped up in the global whining phenomenon…

“Solar activity can explain a large part of the 20th-century global warming,” he states, particularly because of the evidence that has been accumulating over the past decade of the strong relationship that cosmic- ray flux has on our atmosphere. So much evidence has by now been amassed, in fact, that “it is unlikely that [the solar climate link] does not exist.” The sun’s strong role indicates that greenhouse gases can’t have much of an influence on the climate — that C02 et al. don’t dominate through some kind of leveraging effect that makes them especially potent drivers of climate change. The upshot of the Earth not being unduly sensitive to greenhouse gases is that neither increases nor cutbacks in future C02 emissions will matter much in terms of the climate.

Even doubling the amount of CO2 by 2100, for example, “will not dramatically increase the global temperature,” Dr. Shaviv states. Put another way: “Even if we halved the CO2 output, and the CO2 increase by 2100 would be, say, a 50% increase relative to today instead of a doubled amount, the expected reduction in the rise of global temperature would be less than 0.5C. This is not significant.”

More of this here

But if you read this you can pretty much slit your wrists right now…

_Global warming is “very likely” caused by man, meaning more than 90 percent certain. That’s the strongest expression of certainty to date from the panel.

_If nothing is done to change current emissions patterns of greenhouse gases, global temperature could increase as much as 11 degrees Fahrenheit by 2100.

_But if the world does get greenhouse gas emissions under control - something scientists say they hope can be done - the best estimate is about 3 degrees Fahrenheit.

_Sea levels are projected to rise 7 to 23 inches by the end of the century. Add another 4 to 8 inches if recent, surprising melting of polar ice sheets continues.

Well, can’t do much about it so maybe I’ll go out and cut the lawn and then spark up the BBQ.

Things That I Think Are Funny

February 4th, 2007

OK, here’s a few things that I found funny and perhaps ironic in the news lately…

Mexican seeks world chili eating record - now this is like a Texan entering a BBQ cook-off. (video) The squeezing cili juice in the eyes is the capper. Made me cringe.

Taiwan anthem played for China officials:

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada - A diplomatic gaffe marred Saturday’s inauguration of a China-financed stadium on this Caribbean island when a band performed the national anthem of Chinese rival Taiwan. Chinese Ambassador Qian Hongshan and scores of blue-uniformed Chinese laborers who built the $40 million Queen’s Park stadium as a gift were visibly uncomfortable as Taiwan’s anthem echoed inside the 20,000-seat venue.

Oh how I wish there were video of this one!

Wookie impersonator arrested

Police said the 6-foot-4 street performer was seen arguing Thursday afternoon with a tour guide who had expressed concern the Star Wars wookiee impersonator was “harassing and touching tourists” in violation of city law.

A precursor to Hillary Care?

Hospitals in Canada’s biggest cities - Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto - confirmed “a substantial number'’ of Canadians had travelled to China for dubious organ transplants, Mr Kilgour said.

“We’re in the three digits, up over 100 (from Canada each year), and the trend is accelerating,'’ Mr Matas said.

How can this be? We’re always told of how exemplary Canada’s stellar healthcare system is, Go here for it all

ASU Student Resists Brain-Warshing

February 1st, 2007

Oooooh, this one needs a good scrubbin’!

Arizona State University placed a resident assistant on probation four days after he objected to a diversity training exercise that he said reinforced negative stereotypes and portrayed Christians as hateful and narrow-minded.

Ryan Visconti, a 22-year-old political science student from Mesa, said he believes he was placed on probation because he spoke with the Tribune about the Jan. 11 role-playing exercise that was required for his dorm job. Visconti also filed a formal complaint Jan. 13 at ASU.

He said supervisors told him that part of the reason he was placed on probation was because he missed a different training exercise on homosexuality and gay marriage. He said he skipped the exercise because of his negative experience with the earlier activity.

What the Heck? Go here and read the whole story and also check out the comments that are running about 10-1 in his favor. When will people talk back and confront this PC political agenda? The schools are tools of the left and need to be taken on in this manner each and every day. I relish the confrontation of those pushing these PC programs…and the shock displayed on the faces of those who are taken aback make it worth the effort.

Jesus Loves Osama?

February 1st, 2007

At first I thought it said Obama.

The Church I was raised in taught us that God hates sin and loves sinners - when they repent (Luke 7:37-48). So far the jury is out on if Osama has repented. This is used for shock value and to pique people’s interests and perhaps draw them inside. Sad that Churches have to put out half-truths like this to bring the gospel to others.

I don’t really agree with the tactics…or the sign. What the sign says is that Political Correctness has infiltrated many churches.

S. F. Mayor Confirms Heterosexuality

February 1st, 2007

(SFGate) - San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom’s re-election campaign manager resigned Wednesday after confronting the mayor about an affair Newsom had with his wife while she worked in the mayor’s office, City Hall sources said.

Ruby Rippey-Tourk, 34, was the mayor’s appointments secretary from the start of his administration in 2004 until last spring. She told her husband that the affair with Newsom was short-lived and happened about a year and a half ago, while the mayor was undergoing a divorce from his then-wife, Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle, said the sources, who spoke on condition they not be identified.

I knew I recognized that name (Kimberley Guilfoyle), and I thought the divorce was because he was coming out of the closet… Hmmm, dropped the Fox News babe and then perused with the hyphenated named gal. Silly Liberal!

Global Whining Round-up

‘The Down-to-Earth Guide to Global Warming’ a scare book of indoctrination for 8 yr. olds and up is available from Scholastic. I say boycott this company and their books, tapes and other items. Without conclusive proof or an opposing opinion kids will now be forced to believe this tripe.

Climate change means hunger and thirst for billions

Billions? Yeah, sure, you betcha. The first thing that should tip you off is that the “scientists” they cite supporting this report are U.N. associated scientists

Hedgehog in Scotland has ‘global balding’.

Alison Pearson, who runs the nearby Border Beasties hedgehog sanctuary, said: “A lot of creatures miss out on hibernation. They don’t recognise it is autumn because the weather is too warm or they hibernate and wake up after a few days of mild weather.

The saddest part of this column isn’t the hedgehog it’s the sucker Scottish gal that says she can’t believe an American leaving a comment on the story disputing Global Warming. Europeans are so gullible to the global scare tactics and submit to authority much too easily.

There’s a glimmer of hope for our neighbors in the Great White North…

(cbc.ca) - Prime Minister Stephen Harper once called the Kyoto accord a “socialist scheme” designed to suck money out of rich countries, according to a letter leaked Tuesday by the Liberals. “Kyoto is essentially a socialist scheme to suck money out of wealth-producing nations,” Harper’s letter reads.

Nailed it!   More here

NFL embraces Political Correctness and Global Warnings…

The National Football League is hoping to tackle the game’s heat-trapping gas emissions by planting 3,000 mangroves and other trees native to Florida, but the plan could be more of an incomplete pass than a touchdown when it comes to global warming, experts said.

The NFL began planting the trees in August and will finish in May. This year’s Super Bowl features the Chicago Bears against the Indianapolis Colts.

The NFL claims the trees planted in Miami, and at the last two Super Bowls, make the games “carbon neutral” because the trees will eventually absorb carbon dioxide (CO2), the main greenhouse gas, emitted at the events.

So when your ticket prices go up next year feel great about it, your saving the environment! HA!
