Arabic-themed Public School Planned
It all starts out so innocent, then you notice the wolf in sheep’s clothing, …
”It’s hard not to believe that this is in some way a political statement,” said one opponent, 72-year-old Lorna Salzman of Brooklyn. “I think it can very easily deteriorate into something that people could see as confrontational.”
Ya think?
“Being that we are a public school, we certainly are not going to be teaching religion,” said Almontaser, 39. “Islam does not have a culture. Islam is a religion.”
Oh, really? I didn’t know that the two (arabic culture and Islam) were separable. Did you?

Can you guy’s please cite some evidence?
All of this ranting without any citation of what the hell you’re talking about is really annoying.
Do you people REALLY believe in the inflammatory things that you say or is it just hot air?

you didnt know that the arabic culture and islam were seperable? what happened to the fact that almost all of eastern africa is muslim, i wasnt aware that being of the islamic faith suddenly made you arabic, regardless of where you actually come from.
RWC - Let’s try and think a little here - all Muslims aren’t Arabs but 99% of Arabs are Muslim…so what I said is accurate and you can’t think straight … wool!

I’m astonished to learn there are any such themed public schools. Public schools are funded by public dollars. The footprint of public education should be a common denominator across all public schools that promotes assimilation rather than diversity.
The public schools I attended conducted business in English. Foreign language studies were required. World history was taught. French contributions to geometry and Arabic contributions to Algebra were presented as side-bars in the development of mathematics- not the main thing.
I also have difficulty separating Arabs from Isalm, and the clearly nonsecular goals of Islam from the public good.
