Follow The Global Warming/Hollywood Money?
Very good article here about possible connections and reasons for the Global Warming bandwagon that has Hollywood-types falling all over themselves to get on….follow the money.
A couple of these connections I have pointed out in recent posts and this justifies that I am not the only one thinking the same way on this hysteria to turn America into a third world nation so Liberals can live guilt-free.

First of all, that article suggests that those people MIGHT BE on a payroll for “big oil” without naming any oil companies. It does not actually say they are or back it up with any facts.
Do you really think liberals want to turn the USA into a third world country? (I think Katrina victims in the USA live in a third world country already, but that’s another story.)
More to the point, do you think it’s important to pursue sustainable consumption so future generations can have the natural resources they need to live in good health?
On global warming in particular, whether industrialization is a leading cause or not, the average temperature of the Earth’s surface is currently rising, as is widely documented. Do you think it’s at all smart to strive for sustainable living so future generations can be healthy?
If you really think that liberals want to turn the USA in to a third world country, then I guess there’s no point in you answering those questions. Unfortunately, the USA has stopped being a world leader on the issue of human rights. Unfortunately, large animal feeding operations (CAFOs, a.k.a. factory farms) are not required to include sewage treatment plants, causing big problems in surrounding areas and creating real health hazards. Unfortunately, the USA has stopped being a world leader on the issue of environmental conservation and sustainable living. Unfortunately, despite all the money spent on emergency preparation after 9/11/01, New Orleans is being rebuilt as slowly as Iraq. Unfortunately we have a presidential administration that does not even pretend to care about the will of the people but is instead for sale to the highest bidder and will do anything to hold on to power.
We are moving in the direction of a third world country right now, and it’s not environmentalists who are taking us in that direction.

Rebecca you have a very common misconception about conservationists. As long as you have this misconception, the dialog will go nowhere.
I shall spell out for you what should be obvious.
Environmentalists realize that we need to grow and consume in a manner that is sustainable.

I live in Washington environmental capital of the world and these freaks here don’t shower, shave or eat any thing decent in fact its kind of hard to tell them apart from the homeless population. It also really funny for me honest because your being out smarted by a teenager. Actually, it’s you who should be the last person to explain environmentalists to me.
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and am a 3rd generation environmentalist.
Now that my father is retired from being an Electrical Engineer (he helped create DSL technology) he’s a professional environmental activist working for The Sierra Club, The Audobon Society, The League of Conservation Voters, and The World Wildlife Fund. He helped the Republicans in their district defeat Rep. Pombo last year.
So perhaps I know more about environmentalists than you? I’ve been one all my life. And furthermore, I shower, eat meat, enjoy guns, and write software for a living.
You *think* environmentalists want to run your life for you. You’re wrong. Environmentalists want to defend the public from corrupt people.
People like, say, Charles Hurwitz. Do you have any idea who Charles Hurwitz and MAXXAM Corporation are? The history of the Pacific Lumber Company? Rep Pombo’s efforts to dismantle the Endangered Species Act?
Or do you just know what you see around Washington? I’m not talking about the kids who don’t shower. I’m talking about mainstream conservationists, which you’ve obviously had no exposure to. (and I am the one who doesn’t “seem to know what going on in the world” hehehehe)
I am simply explaining the fact that I and other conservationists want YOU and YOUR KIDS to have the natural resources we will all need to be healthy. In order for that to happen, industries need to be regulated, among other things.
Show me one mainstream environmental conservation organization that wants to tell you how to live. Mainstream environmental organizations want to tell Congress to pass laws to protect the public welfare.
And how exactly are you outsmarting me? You have no idea what you’re talking about. You see a bunch of unkempt kids who probably ARE homeless and think that all conservationists are that way? That’s outsmarting me?

I may not know everything about the world but I know I that know more then you. If you haven’t look around you would know that most teens are liberal and all they care about is American Idol and Hollyweird and all that crap. Unfortunately you know nothing of the mainstream environmental movement. You’ve just shown that.
You think you do. You see something and generalize about everyone who may be similar.
So I encourage you to listen and learn. I remember being a teenager. I thought I knew everything then too, and I thought that anyone who disagreed with me was an idiot. Ahh to be young again.
Once you stop assuming you know everything and be receptive to learning new things, you’ll see I have way more common sense than you.
You made such a funny statement though, I have to respond. Environmentalists are not corrupt. We are fighting against corruption on the part of large corporations and the government oversight bodies that are supposed to regulate them.
Charles Hurwitz is corrupt. Google him. He’s a corporate raider, convicted in the S and L scandals of the 1980s. He now owns Pacific Lumber Company and has been liquidating the NorCal timber economy to pay back the taxpayers.
That’s a corrupt, greedy person who doesn’t care about anyone as long as he lines his pockets. He doesn’t care about the town that got buried under a mudslide from deforestation, he doesn’t care about the lumber workers who won’t have jobs because the trees were call cut, he doesn’t care about anyone or anything.
That’s the type of person we environmentalists fight against.
Now, miss smarty pants, give me ONE example that backs up what you’ve said.

Sorry that I haven’t responed. I been vacationing in the Caribbean. Now what did you say? I don’t know were your getting the carp about Environmentalists looking out for Americans with E.L.F buring down housing developments and SUV and other car dealerships. I’m all for preservation but one sheet of toilet paper and Al Gores book replacing the holy bible in hotels and motels and his movie being watch in every school in public school in America thats were I draw the line.
I have a better way of saving the environment and thats to stop publishing every liberal news paper in America. Imagine all the trees that well be saved aswell as no more anti-americanism and one side political views.
So maybe your liberal public school sould have taught me gammar instead of politics and other unless crap. 
P.S Being 5′6 I’m not so little and don’t ever call me little agian you Liberal fruit loop and also say that my parents are ashamed of me because my parents are quite proud of there childern. Your just attacking me personally and calling me names you whack job.

Okay look at it this way:
You see the ELF nutcases committing acts of property destruction and vandalism and think all environmentalists act that way. By your logic, I could see one of those Christian nutcases who bombs abortion clinics and think that all Christians are terrorists.
Those ELF jerks don’t represent mainstream environmentalism any more than bomber nutcases represent mainstream Christianity.
As I’ve explained, mainstream environmentalists try to get laws changed. You are falling for the old spin trick of taking the most fringe ideas like only using one sheet and thinking that the mainstream buys into it.
If you don’t like me calling you names, maybe you shouldn’t call me names? Come on, if you’re going to dish it out, ya gotta take it without whining.
Reagan was one of the most corrupt presidents we’ve had. The Cheney/Bush administration will be almost impossible to top though. Did you know that Halliburton did roughly $23 Million in business with Saddam’s regime in 1998 and 1999 through off-shore subsidiaries? This was while Cheney was CEO of Halliburton? And also while Cheney, as part of the PNAC think tank, was openly calling for Saddam’s overthrow.
Now THAT will be difficult to top!
So let’s see - you make broad generalizations about liberals, but you don’t like that some liberals make broad generalizations about conservatives? I take that from your P.P.S.

The trees are in which the environmentalist are trying to protect are said to be more harmfull to the environment then good. I maybe a child but your the one that has the mind of one. Geez grow up. What trees that mainstream environmentalists are trying to protect are more harmful than good? Who told you that? I’d really like to see you back that whopper up with actual facts. I can tell you that mainstream environmentalists generally try to protect native plant species from invasive non-native ones.
Clinton cheated on his wife. Wow. Guess what. While Newt was on a witch hunt against Clinton, Newt was cheating on his own wife.
A president’s personal life should never be considered relevant unless it affects his or her job. The fact that Newt and the rest of Congress stopped doing what we pay them to do so they could try (unsuccessfully) to cripple Clinton’s presidency is a disgrace.
On the other hand, Iran-Contra was a serious breach of the law and of national security.
Guess which of those to scandals most Americans think is more important. You’d be surprised to hear what the rest of the world thought of the absurd persecution of Clinton. Do you know how much substantial good Clinton did both here and abroad? Clinton is greeted like a rock star outside the USA. Why? Because he made a huge positive difference for much of the world, including here in the USA.
Carter is probably the one US president of my lifetime who had integrity. He made more choices and was not an effective president, but he was the one and only one who probably never lied.

Lets put an end to political correctness on religion shall we? Here’s something interesting to follow. Liberals claim to be broadminded more open to idea and things, but I will admit thier view on religion is quite humorus. They often speak out against radicalism in religion, but notice how it’s always “Radical Christianity” they speak out on, oh the humanity they are just narrow minded 21st century Nazi’s, but how often do you hear a Liberal speak out against radical islam or radical hinduism? or if there ever has been radical buddishm? When it comes to the flaws of the world religions,those other religious groups are left, until we talk about bringing God back into the United States like it used to be than that’s when you hear a Liberal mentioned the other world religions. I have to say that Rebecca is right about radical Christianity vs. Radical Islam, her facts are not flawed but the truth. Liberal view on religion is flawed since they only attack one.
